Decompression Therapy

Carrying the weight of the world is not just a saying. Years of work, stress, old injuries, and gravity itself press down on your spine, and your discs absorb that load until they cannot anymore. Decompression therapy takes the pressure off, literally.

Room to Heal

Lower back pain, herniated discs, sciatica, and degenerative disc issues are common reasons people seek care. These conditions create symptoms like sharp or radiating leg pain, stiffness, or difficulty standing and walking. Many of our patients have already tried physical therapy, massage, yoga, or medications, but those solutions often only provide temporary relief. The deeper issue is often the nervous system's inability to handle stress and allow the body to function properly.

Decompression therapy is a safe, non-invasive way to relieve pressure on the spine and give your nervous system a chance to reset. By gently stretching the spine, decompression creates space for oxygen, nutrients, and water to flow into the discs, promoting healing and reducing irritation of the nerves. It is also one of our favorite tools for the low back pain of pregnancy, gently unloading the spine at exactly the stage when it is carrying the most.

Common questions
What is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment aimed at relieving pressure on the spine, often used to address conditions such as herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and chronic back or neck pain. Treatment typically involves a series of sessions using specialized equipment that gently stretches and decompresses the spine.

How does Spinal Decompression work?

Spinal Decompression Therapy works by using a specific combination of force of pull, angle in degree of pull, and varying time to create a negative pressure inside the disc. This reversal of pressure creates a vacuum inside the disc that draws bulging discs and extruded disc material back into place, taking pressure off pinched or irritated nerves.

Is Decompression Therapy painful?

Not at all! Most practice members describe decompression as gentle stretching for their low back.
